The comic book and illustration exhibition Emission of Emotions was opened at the Art Pavilion Juraj Šporer on Tuesday, October 20th of 2009, at 7:30 p.m., in the organization of the Croatian Museum of Tourism.
Emission of Emotions is an informal comic book artist group whose members are Dunja Janković (Mali Lošinj, Portland), Irena Jukić – Pranjić (Bjelovar), Matija Pisačić (Sesvete) and Damir Steinfl (Opatija). This group is focused solely on original comics. The authors describe themselves as „being in a constant state of change, with a unclear present and unfathomable future, not having any plans for common actions, having or not having a vision of what Emission of Emotions is or should be.“
The authors began their collaboration in March of 2005 when Steinfl invited them to publish their comics in the specialized comics section of the magazine for culture Val from Rijeka. The comics section was called Emission of Emotions. So far, they have exhibited their works at the Hercegnovski Comics Festival (2007), the gallery Prozori in Zagreb (2008) and gallery Dalmacijaland in Jelsa. They also organized several comic book workshops and colonies at the Op. Art Quisisana festival.
The exhibition in Opatija will be open until November 8th of 2009.
