The Croatian Museum of Tourism, together with around 10 hotels and restaurants from Opatija, opened the exhibition The Festive Holliday Table at the Villa Angiolina in Opatija on December 9th of 2009.
The participants demonstrated their skills at setting and decorating a festive table, thus reminding us of the long history of hospitality in this region. As the center of the beginnings of tourism, Opatija and its hotels and restaurants inherit a long tradition of hospitality which has been developing continuously until today. From its very origins as a climate and health resort and the beginnings of tourism in general, the wealth of Opatija’s attractions was most evident in the work of skilled masters of the art of service.
Today, they exhibit variety, excellence and a high level of quality as a cumulative result of the unique blend of traditional and modern touristic content enriched with traditional qualities in a new and unique way.
On the occasion of Museum Night 2010 (January 29th of 2010) the Croatian Museum of Tourism has prepared a special presentation of Croatian gastronomic specialties.
Visitors could view the skill and creativity involved in service until early February of 2010.
