The exhibition was opened on the occasion of the Museum Night ’09.
The viewing public was presented with a segment of wine advertisements from the period when the Adriatic was becoming renowned as a tourist destination, namely late 19th and early 20th century.
Posters containing text and images (advertisements found in printed media of the period) display the basic facts about the place and manner of consumption and sale of wines. Other exhibits included wine labels and diplomas, awards and medals from fairs and wine expos, menus and price lists, a poster from the County expo and a photo album of the Rijeka fair.
Museum Night program:
19:00 – exhibition opening. The speakers were Ivan Sokolić (well known Croatian enologist), the director of the State Archives in Rijeka Goran Crnković (lecture on the significance and cultivation of grapes in the Kvarner region) and the director of the Croatian Museum of Tourism Mirjana Kos Nalis.
20:00 – Daniela Kramarić, renowned sommelier: presentation of wines Malvazija istarska 2007 A Gran Teran 2005 by Moren Coronica
21:00 – a walk through the historical garden of Kvarner enology, accompanied by a few sips of wine from the Katunar Winery: Anton Katunar
