The exhibition Zvonimir Zagoda, organized by the Croatian Museum of Tourism, will be opened at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 6th of 2010 at the Juraj Šporer Art Pavilion in Opatija.
After several exhibitions in a short period of time (Zagreb, Krapina, Vodice), Zvonimir Zagoda will present a review of his opus at the Juraj Šporer Art Pavilion. This doyen of Croatian photography and a mentor to many contemporary artists is exhibiting works from his classical triptych of themes: wood, stone and water.
It might be said that his opus follows a development from initial modernism (wood studies), conceived in tune with the Baudelaire aesthetic of the ugly, through structuralism (rock studies), dominated by minimalism, to end in lyrical miniatures inspired by Raškaj water motifs. It is up to the viewer to reexamine their own artistic sensibility and shape their own artistic text from the motifs offered in the world of Zagoda’s works.
