The Croatian Museum of Tourism in Opatija presents the guest exhibition from the Zagreb City Museum, “We are New Life / The Oldest Theatre of the Blind and Visually Impaired in the World.”

We can confidently say that the Drama Studio of the Blind and Visually Impaired “New Life” is a true Croatian brand!

For decades, they have delighted domestic audiences, and traveling the world, with their exceptional talent and successful performances, they proudly represent Croatia.

This was an excellent reason to tell the story of this remarkable and long-standing, yet youthful and creative theatre, where blind and visually impaired people perform, through the language of the museum and this exhibition.

Originally, the exhibition was presented at the Zagreb City Museum in 2023 to mark the 75th anniversary of “New Life” and was part of the official program of the 12th BIT Festival / Blind in Theatre – International Festival of Theatre for the Blind and Visually Impaired.

The performance “The Ugly Duckling” premiered in 2024. As part of the guest exhibition “We are New Life” in Opatija, the Drama Studio “New Life” will perform this play in September 2024 in Opatija as a gift to the young people of Opatija for the start of the school year.
