The Croatian Museum of Tourism is hosting the multimedia exhibition “INDEXI u svemu naj, naj, naj”, marking the 50th anniversary of the first performance of the iconic love ballad Ti si mi bila u svemu naj, naj, naj. The legendary Sarajevo-based pop-rock band Indexi premiered the song in 1975 at the Opatija Music Festival.
Originally presented to the public in 2023/2024 as part of the traditional New Year’s celebration in Štrosmajerova Street in Sarajevo, the exhibition now arrives in Opatija enriched with numerous new exhibits. It offers a fascinating insight into the world of Indexi, a band deeply connected with Opatija in many ways. Visitors of all generations will be able to experience the spirit of the 1970s – a time when Indexi reached the peak of their musical success.
Indexi, founded in 1962 in Sarajevo, are a cornerstone of the Yugoslav pop-rock scene. Their compositions have left an indelible mark on the region’s musical history. In addition to the band’s iconic lead singer Davorin Popović, major contributors to their success include Slobodan “Bodo” Kovačević and Fadil Redžić. Over the years, the band saw as many as 24 different members take part in its rich musical journey.
The enduring connection between Indexi and Opatija dates back to 1967, when the band first appeared at a music festival. In 1968, they reached the finals of the Opatija Festival with the song Jutro će promijeniti sve. That same year, they also performed Ako jednom budeš sama by Kornelije “Bata” Kovač. It was at the Opatija Festival that Indexi performed many of their greatest hits and met poet Maja Perfiljeva and composer Hrvoje Hegedušić, leading to a fruitful and long-lasting collaboration and friendship. Perfiljeva wrote lyrics for 15 of the band’s rock ballads, including their timeless hit Da sam ja netko, the first song she ever penned for Indexi.
