Yesterday, the Italian Community of Opatija, in collaboration with the Croatian Museum of Tourism, warmly welcomed friends from the city of Este, Italy. They traditionally visit Kvarner for the Carnival🎭, and this year marked their third consecutive visit to Opatija. This time, they arrived with the lively Drummers Group from Marendole🥁, adding rhythm and energy to the occasion and strengthening the bonds of friendship.

🎉The celebration began with a procession from Slatina to Villa Angiolina🌸, home of the Croatian Museum of Tourism, with the beat of drums echoing through the streets.

Thanks to the excellent cooperation between the Italian Community and the Museum, the guests had the chance to explore Opatija’s history and learn about its 180-year-old tourist tradition📜, which started in Villa Angiolina. The hosts also shared interesting stories about the unique Opatija Carnival🎭, highlighting its cultural importance.

🎶The event was made even more special by a musical performance from the VoCi di Abbazia choir🎤, while the atmosphere was lifted by the presence of the Master of the Opatija Carnival, Duško Jeličić – Dule, and members of the Lumber Carnival Group🎊, who have been keeping this tradition alive for many years.

💫This joyful gathering once again confirmed the strong connection and lasting friendship between Opatija and Este, celebrating culture, music, and the spirit of togetherness.
